First of all I would like to apologise for the irregularity of these updates but, we do not have a fixed schedule and sometimes things can get a little out of hand...... like today, for example, we had a trouble free (ish) trip to the lunchtime service with the service trucks all behaving themselves as did Smitty, unitl some off track excursions had taken out his new front bumper mounts before the service. John also had a trouble free run but Colin had some trouble with a drive belt blowing in the Renegade and also a couple of flat tyres, all on te transport sections which will cost him in penalty times but for all intents and purposes Colin was the fastest quad for leg one in the Selective Stages.

Not faring much better on the tyre front though Col came in with a proper flat (side wall gone) and a fair bit of work to be done which kept Adam and Chris up late (later than I was up even) to get it together for the marathon days.

Smitty too came in with the need for some major repairs, on top of the bumper mounts he had ripped the rear muffler mount clean out of the frame, so with thanks to Charlie from Reg Owns crew (who welded it all back together for us) the big repairs were taken care of but there was plenty of other minor things to do with this stage being the first real time that some of the rally kit that we have developed for the 700xx has been tested. On top of all the regular service work it made for a moderately late night. Hopefully all this work means a trouble free double marathon day.....

There will be some more pics from Leg 1 added as we go, Mrs B has been very dilligent with the camera (and video camera) but it is hard to co-ordinate to get all the pics together at the same time when there is so much going on.
